Abstract

The value of South Sumatra's exports in September 2013 reached US $ 309.58 million or an increase of 11.64 percent compared to exports in August 2013. While compared to September 2012 it decreased by 9.98 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in September 2013 was US $ 309.58 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 53.11 million and US $ 256.47 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - September 2013 reaching US $ 619.48 million, US $ 565.24 million and US $ 441.60 million respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 54.64 percent of total exports in September 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - September 2013 reached US $ 362.10 million (12.16 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 656.02 million (22.04 percent of total exports).

According to the Sector, exports of industrial products in the period January - September 2013 fell 13.73 percent compared to the same period in 2012, likewise exports of mining products fell 27.33 percent while agricultural output rose 14.68 percent
