Abstract

In June 2013 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 296.07 million. The value of exports of South Sumatra in June 2013 decreased by 14.64 percent compared to May 2013. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2012 (June 2012) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 27.21 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in June 2013 was US $ 296.07 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 41.12 million and US $ 254.95 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - June 2013 reaching US $ 457.31 million, US $ 382.84 million and US $ 335.08 million, respectively, with the roles of the three 57.07 percent of total exports in June 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - June 2013 reached US $ 238.04 million (11.56 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2012 which reached 253.93 million. While ASEAN exports reached US $ 443.98 million (21.56 percent of total exports) or decreased compared to the same period in 2012 with a value of US $ 506.34 million.
