Abstract

In May 2013 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 346.87 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in May 2013 decreased by 6.70 percent compared to April 2013. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2012 (May 2012) exports of South Sumatra Province decreased by 19.01 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in May 2013 was US $ 346.87 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 43.68 million and US $ 303.19 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

The United States, Malaysia and China are the main export destinations South Sumatra, during January - May 2013 each reached US $ 391.22 million, US $ 339.56 million and US $ 281.45 million, with the role of the three reaching 57.41 percent of total exports in May 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - May 2013 reached US $ 202.29 million (11.47 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2012 which reached 208.01 million. While ASEAN exports reached US $ 389.67 million (22.10 percent of total exports) or decreased compared to the same period in 2012 with a value of US $ 442.79 million.
