Abstract

In July 2013 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 330.37 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in July 2013 increased by 11.59 percent compared to June 2013. However, when compared to the same period in 2012 (July 2012) the exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 7.35 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in July 2013 was US $ 330.37 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 59.75 million and US $ 270.62 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January-July 2013 reaching US $ 516.53 million, US $ 450.18 million and US $ 377.56 million, respectively, with the roles of the three 56.25 percent of total exports in July 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - July 2013 reached US $ 277.75 million (11.62 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2012 which reached 289.36 million. While ASEAN exports reached US $ 518.05 million (21.68 percent of total exports) or decreased compared to the same period in 2012 with a value of US $ 609.01 million.
