Abstract

In April 2012 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 387.39 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in April 2012 decreased by 9.39 percent compared to March 2012. Likewise when compared by April 2011, exports of the South Sumatra Province had decreased by 17.68 percent.

The value of non-oil and gas exports in South Sumatra in January - April 2012 is still dominated by rubber commodities which reached a value of US $ 980.46 million, followed by coal at US $ 45.94 million, and wood / wood products at US$ 10.15 million.

China, Malaysia and the United States are the main export destinations South Sumatra in April 2012 each reached US $ 84.29 million, US $ 79.78 million and US $ 62.21 million, with the roles of the three reaching 58.41 percent of total exports in April 2012.

Exports to the European Union in January - April 2012 reached US $ 153.66 million (10.40 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared the same period in 2011 which reached 287.48 Million. Whereas the export to ASEAN reached US $ 370.56 Million (25.08 percent of total exports) or increased compared to the same period in 2011 with a value of US $341.93 million.
