Abstract

The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting South Sumatra through the entrance of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang in January 2016 was 848 people. The number of foreign tourists visiting South Sumatra in January 2016 decreased by 27.27 percent compared to December 2015.

Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in South Sumatra in January 2016 reached an average of 50.21 percent, down 7.75 points compared to the ROR of hotels in December 2015 of 57.96 percent. Meanwhile, if observed according to hotel classifications, it turns out that in January 2016 the ROR for five-star hotels reached 75.67 percent and was the highest ROR of hotels compared to other star-class hotels.

The average length of stay of foreign guests in January 2016 was 2.51 days, an increase of 0.12 days compared to the average length of stay of foreign guests in December 2015. While the average length of stay of Nusantara / Domestic guests in January 2016 also increased 0.03 days compared to the average length of stay of domestic guests in December 2015.
