Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in June 2014 amounted to 101.91 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, June 2014 NTP decreased by 0.34 percent due to the increase in price index received by farmers is smaller than the increase in prices paid by farmers.
  • The Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) of South Sumatra in June 2014 was 105.46 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in June 2014 decreased by 0.09 percent.
  • FTT Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in June 2014 was 101.91 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in June 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, FTT without fishery in June 2014 decreased by 0.33 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in June 2014 was 105.49 percent, compared to the previous month NTUP in June decreased by 0.08 percent.
  • Based on the NTP sector, in June 2014 the NTP of the food crops and livestock sector experienced an increase compared to the previous month, each increasing by 0.50 and 1.19 percent. While the horticulture sector, smallholder plantations, and fisheries fell by 1.11 each; 0.99; and 0.55 percent.
  • The NTUP food and livestock sector in June 2014 also experienced an increase compared to May 2014. The NTUP food crop sector increased 0.70 percent and the livestock sector increased by 1.38 percent. While the horticulture sector, smallholder plantations, and fisheries fell by 0.88 each; 0.71; and 0.14 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is shown by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In June 2014, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.64 percent. Inflation was mainly due to an increase in prices in the foodstuffs sub-group which experienced inflation of 0.87 percent
