Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in June 2013 was 110.60 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2013 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the June 2013 NTP declined by 0.29 due to an increase in the price index paid by farmers is greater than an increase in the price index received by farmers in general.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in June 2013 amounted to 124.52 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in June 2013 fell by 0.30 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in June 2013 was 113.98 percent, meaning that the welfare level of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, horticultural FTT in May fell by 0.33 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in June 2013 was 93.61 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in June 2013 decreased 0.36 percent.
  • The Farmers Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in June 2013 was 104.68 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 0.06 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in June 2013 was 114.17 percent. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen fell by 0.14 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In June 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.71 percent, mainly due to the decrease in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 1.24 percent.
