Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in June 2012 amounted to 109.79 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in June 2012 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, June 2012 NTP decreased by 0.01 caused by an increase in the price index received by farmers in general is lower than an increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in June 2012 amounted to 123.75 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in June 2012 decreased by 0.06 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in June 2012 amounted to 112.34 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. But when compared with the previous month, June horticultural FTT fell by 0.24 percent.
  • NTP People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in June 2012 amounted to 92.97 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra are still experiencing a deficit. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in June 2012 increased by 0.35 percent.
  • The Farmers Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in June 2012 was 104.48 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 0.27 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in June 2012 was 114.93 percent. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen fell by 0.74 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In June 2012, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.58 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 0.80 percent.
