Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in June 2015 amounted to 97.29 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, the June 2015 NTP decreased by 0.13 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is smaller than the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in June 2015 was 102.94 percent, indicating that in general farmers' purchasing power in June 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP in June 2015 increased by 0, 71 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in June 2015 was 97.26 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2015 declined compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, the NTP without fisheries in June 2015 decreased by 0, 10 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in June 2015 was 102.97 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in June 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in June 2015 experienced an increase of 0.75 percent.
  • Based on NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in June 2015 the sub-sectors that experienced an increase compared to May 2015 were the Horticulture sub-sector, the smallholder estate crops sub-sector, and the livestock sub-sector, while the food crops sub-sector and the fisheries sub-sector experienced a decline.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In June 2015, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.38 percent. The highest inflation occurred in the foodstuffs group at 2.31 percent.
