Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in July 2012 amounted to 110.08 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in July 2012 was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the July 2012 NTP increased by 0, This is because the increase in the price index received by farmers is generally higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in July 2012 amounted to 124.61 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in July 2012 rose by 0.69 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in July 2012 amounted to 112.27 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. But when compared with the previous month, July horticultural FTT fell by 0.06 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in July 2012 was 92.74 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra were still experiencing a deficit. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in July 2012 declined 0.29 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in July 2012 was 104.89 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.39 percent.

  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In July 2012, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.68 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of processed foods and foodstuffs by 0.99 and 0.88 percent.
