Abstract

  • The economy of South Sumatra Province as measured by the magnitude of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at the current price in the first half of 2016 reached Rp 172.83 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 130.87 trillion.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the first semester of 2016 grew to 5.05 percent (c-to-c) compared to the same period in 2015 of 4.65 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Provision of Accommodation and Food and Drink at 11.98 percent.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2016 against the second quarter of 2015 grew 5.13 percent (y-on-y), an increase compared to the same period in 2015 of 4.71 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by electricity and gas procurement at 24.98 percent. In terms of Expenditures by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew by 13.13 percent.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2016 compared to the previous quarter rose to 3.73 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, this growth was caused by Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries which grew 7.95 percent. Whereas in terms of Expenditures it was caused more by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component which grew 30.34 percent.
