Abstract

  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in 2015 measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices reached Rp 332.73 trillion and per capita GDP reached Rp 41.32 million.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in 2015 grew 4.50 percent slowing compared to 2014 which was 4.70 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security of 10.49 percent. In terms of expenditure the highest growth was achieved by the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component of 4.50 percent.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared to the fourth quarter of 2014 (y-on-y) grew by 3.94 percent slower than the same period the previous year of 5.98 percent.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the fourth quarter of 2015 experienced a contraction of -3.55 percent when compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). From the production side, this is caused by seasonal effects on the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries business sectors which grew by minus 25.04 percent. From the expenditure side, it was caused by slowing growth in Net Exports, mainly due to a contraction in Oil and Gas Exports which contracted by 19.45 percent.
