Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in August 2015 increased by 12.69 percent compared to July 2015. However, when compared with the same period in 2014 (August 2014) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 4.03 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in August 2015 was US $ 221.92 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 26.56 million and US $ 195.36 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

Malaysia, the United States and India became the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in the period January - August 2015, each reaching US $ 386.63 million, US $ 280.05 million and US $ 168.87 million, with the roles of the three reaching 47 , 06 percent of total exports for the period January - August 2015.

Exports to the European Union in January - August 2015 reached US $ 219.79 million (12.38 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 470.46 million (26.49 percent of total exports).

By Sector, compared to the January-August 2014 period, exports of agricultural, industrial and mining products from January to August 2015 decreased by 4.26 percent, 12.23 percent and 5.50 percent
