Abstract

  • The value of South Sumatra exports in April 2015 increased by 26.44 percent compared to March 2015. Conversely, when compared to the same period in 2014 (April 2014) exports of the South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 0.34 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in April 2015 was US $ 273.13 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 37.73 million and US $ 235.41 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
  • Malaysia, the United States and India became the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in the period January - April 2015, each reaching US $ 236.79 million, US $ 148.38 million and US $ 102.72 million, with the roles of the three reaching 51 , 62 percent of total exports for the period January - April 2015.
  • Exports to the European Union in January - April 2015 reached US $ 92.05 million (9.74 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 279.13 million (29.53 percent of total exports).
  • According to the Sector, compared to the January-April 2014 period, exports of industrial products from January to April 2015 declined 18.33 percent while exports of agricultural products increased 22.16 percent and mining products increased 18.26 percent.
  • The value of South Sumatra imports in April 2015 was US $ 66.53 million or decreased by 50.99 percent when compared to March 2015.
  • South Sumatra Province's imports in April 2015 amounted to US $ 66.53 million consisting of oil and gas imports amounting to US $ 1.24 million and non-oil and gas totaling US $ 65.29 million.
  • The role of the total non-oil / gas imports during January - April 2015, the mechanical machinery / aircraft class gave the biggest role, namely 61.20 percent followed by electrical machinery / equipment at 7.55 percent and fertilizer imports at 6.77 percent.
  • The biggest countries of origin from January to April 2015 were China with an import value of US $ 145.11 million, followed by Malaysia with an import value of US $ 45.70 million and Germany with an import value reaching US $ 37.20 million.
  • Compared to January - April 2014, the import value of raw / auxiliary materials and capital goods increased by 87.91 percent and 475.86 percent respectively while the value of imported consumer goods decreased by 10.51 percent.
