Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP)* South Sumatra in April 2014 amounted to 101.96 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared with the previous month, April 2014 NTP increased by 0, 95 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers while the price index paid by farmers in general has decreased.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in April 2014 was 105.56 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP April 2014 increased by 0, 48 percent.
  • The FTT without fisheries sector in South Sumatra in April 2014 was 101.97 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in April 2014 increased by 0.95 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in April 2014 was 105.62 percent, compared with the previous month NTUP in April increased by 0.47 percent.
  • Based on field monitoring in April 2014, the NTP of the smallholder, fishery, livestock, and horticultural sectors experienced an increase compared to the previous month, each increasing by 2.15; 0.95; 0.31; and 0.25 percent. While the food crop sector fell 0.68 percent
  • NTUP of the people's plantation, fisheries and livestock sector in April 2014 compared to March 2014 which increased by 1.52 percent; 0.69 percent and 0.10 percent. While the food crops and horticulture sectors experienced a decrease of 1.08 percent and 0.10 percent respectively.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In April 2014 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.42 percent, deflation was mainly due to a decrease in prices in the foodstuffs sub-group which experienced a deflation of 1.11 percent
