Abstract

  • Inflation that occurred in the city of Palembang in October 2011 was due to an increase in the CPI in the foodstuffs group (1.82 percent), the processed food group, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco (0.90 percent) and the health group (0.55 percent).
  • 2011 calendar year inflation in the city of Palembang was 3.40 percent, while inflation "year on year" (October 2011 to October 2010) was 5.17 percent.
  • Based on monitoring prices in 66 cities in Indonesia shows that 32 cities experienced inflation and 34 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bima City (0.97 percent) and the lowest inflation occurred in Madiun City (0.01 percent), while the highest deflation occurred in Kendari City (-2.98 percent) and the lowest occurred in Sumenep City (-0, 02 percent).
