Abstract

The inflation that occurred in Palembang in August 2011 was due to an increase in CPI on 6 expenditure groups, namely: the foodstuffs group (0.65 percent), the processed food group, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.12 percent), housing, water, electricity and fuel (0.65 percent) percent), the clothing group (2.30 percent), the education, recreation and sports group (1.88 percent) and transportation and communication group (0.07 percent).

2011 calendar year inflation in Palembang City was 2.28 percent, while inflation was "year on year" (August 2011 against August 2010) amounted to 5.02 percent.

Based on monitoring prices in 66 cities in Indonesia shows that all cities experience inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the City of Pangkal Pinang (3.05 percent) and the lowest inflation occurred in the City Denpasar (0.02 percent).
