Abstract

  • The top five main export commodities from South Sumatra Province in December 2020 were rubber valued at US $ 126.07 million (32.29 percent); pulp / pulp worth US $ 109.10 million (27.94 percent); coal worth US $ 67.97 million (17.41 percent); palm oil and its fractions US $ 32.69 million (8.37 percent); and urea fertilizer US $ 9.28 million (2.38 percent);
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province for the January - December 2020 period was US $ 3,604.24 million, down 11.21 percent compared to the export value for the January - December 2019 period which amounted to US $ 4,059.35 million.
  • The import value of South Sumatra in December 2020 was US $ 90.75 million or decreased by 63.22 percent when compared to imports in November 2020 which amounted to US $ 246.74 million. Most of the imports in December came from China amounting to US $ 63.86 million (70.37 percent), Vietnam US $ 4.37 million (4.82 percent) and Singapore amounting to US $ 3.17 million (3.49 percent ).
  • Imports of South Sumatra Province for the January - December 2020 period amounted to US $ 938.70 million, an increase of 83.46 percent compared to the import value for the January - December 2019 period which amounted to US $ 511.66 million.
  • The types of goods imported with the largest value in December 2020 were electrical machinery and equipment amounting to US $ 28.93 (31.88 percent), machinery / mechanical appliances amounting to US $ 21.27 million (23.50 percent), and fertilizer amounting to US $ 12.31 million (13.56 percent).
  • Total trade in South Sumatra in December 2020 was a surplus of US $ 299.71 million.
  • Throughout 2020, the total trade balance of South Sumatra was a surplus of US $ 2,665.54 million.
