RICE PRODUCTION, CORN, AND SOUTH SUMATERA SOYBEAN (TEMPORARY NUMBERS OF 2010 AND RAMALAN I NUMBERS 2011)

Abstract

• Rice production in 2010 (Provisional Figures) was 3.27 million tons of dry milled unhulled rice (MPD), increased by 147.22 thousand tons (4.71 percent) compared to 2009. Increase in production due to an increase in harvested area and productivity, each increased by 23.01 thousand hectares (3.08 percent) and 0.66 quintal / hectare (1.58 percent).

• Rice production in 2011 (Forecast Number I) is estimated to reach 3.44 million tons of MPD, up amounted to 165.13 thousand tons (5.05 percent) compared to 2010. Increased production estimated to be due to an increase in harvested area of ​​755 hectares (0.10 percent) and an increase productivity of 2.10 quintal / hectare (4.94 percent)

• Corn production in 2010 (Provisional Figures) was 125.80 thousand tons of dry shelled, up amounted to 12.63 thousand tons (11.16 percent) compared to 2009. The increase in production was caused an increase in productivity which reached 1.54 quintal / hectare (4.31 percent), as well as area the harvest increased by 2.08 thousand hectares (6.55 percent).

• Corn production in 2011 (Forecast Number I) is estimated at 134.61 thousand tons of shelled dry, up by 8.82 thousand tons (7.01 percent) compared to 2010. Increase in production estimated due to the relatively large increase in harvested area, reaching 1.65 thousand hectares (4.87) percent).

• Soybean production in 2010 (Provisional Figures) was 11.66 thousand tons of dried beans, down by 2.04 thousand tons (14.87 percent) compared to 2009. The decline in production was caused by a decrease harvested area of ​​1.64 thousand hectares (17.84 percent), while productivity has increased of 0.54 quintal / hectare (3.61 percent).

• Soybean production in 2010 (Provisional Figures) was 11.66 thousand tons of dried beans, down by 2.04 thousand tons (14.87 percent) compared to 2009. The decline in production was caused by a decrease harvested area of ​​1.64 thousand hectares (17.84 percent), while productivity has increased of 0.54 quintal / hectare (3.61 percent).
