Abstract
• The 2016 Economic Census Registrar (SE2016) enrolls 657,564 non-agricultural enterprises / businesses that are grouped into 15 categories of business fields in accordance with the Indonesian Business Classification Standard (KBLI) 2015, an increase of 20.63% compared to the results of the Economic Census
2006 (SE06) amounting to 545,095 businesses / companies. Based on the scale of business, 648,971 businesses (98.69 percent) are small and micro enterprises (MSEs) and 8,593 businesses / companies (1.31 percent) scale large medium enterprises (UMB).
• SE2016 enrollment results indicate that the number of businesses / companies by business field is dominated by large trading and retail business fields
338,249 businesses / companies or 51.44 percent of all businesses / companies in the Province of South Sumatra.
• Number of manpower according to business field, in line with the number of businesses / companies dominated by trade and wholesale trade as many as 866,067 workers or 41.24 percent of the workforce in the Province of South Sumatra`
• According to the location of business, 473,092 businesses / companies (71.95 percent) are located other than Special Buildings and 184,472 businesses (28.05 percent) are located in the Special Buildings of the Place of Business.
