Abstract

  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in 2014 measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached IDR 308.41 trillion and GRDP per capita reached IDR 38.83 million.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in 2014 grew 4.68 percent, slowing compared to 2013 which was 5.47 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth achieved by Education Services was 16.54 percent. In terms of expenditure the highest growth was achieved by the Foreign Export Component of 14.93 percent.
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the fourth quarter of 2014 compared to the fourth quarter of 2013 (y-on-y) grew by 5.96 percent faster than the same period the previous year of 3.91 percent
  • The economy of South Sumatra Province in the fourth quarter of 2014 contracted 2.79 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). From the production side, this is caused by seasonal effects on the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries business sectors which grew by minus 24.71 percent. On the expenditure side, this is caused by slowing growth in household consumption expenditure and high demand for foreign imports
