Abstract

  • The value of exports of South Sumatra in June 2014 decreased by 9.67 percent compared to May 2014. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2013 (June 2013) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 15.35 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in June 2014 was US $ 242.49 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 49.00 million and US $ 193.49 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.
  • Malaysia, the United States, and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - June 2014, reaching US $ 359.31 million, US $ 306.04 million and US $ 205.04 million, with the roles of the three reaching 53.87 percent of total exports in January - June 2014.
  • Exports to the European Union in January - June 2014 reached US $ 218.04 million (13.53 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports of US $ 409.80 million (25.36 percent of total exports).
  • According to the Sector, compared to January - June 2013, exports of industrial products from January to June 2014 decreased by 25.82 percent, so did agricultural exports decreased by 17.37 percent while mining products increased by 81.26 percent
