Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in March 2014 decreased by 2.59 percent compared to February 2014. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2013 (March 2013) exports of the South Sumatra Province decreased by 27.43 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in March 2014 was US $ 274.20 million consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 40.65 million and US $ 233.54 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports.

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in January - March 2014, reaching US $ 173.56 million, US $ 159.65 million and US $ 125.72 million respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 55.24 percent of total exports in January - March 2014.

Exports to the European Union in January - March 2014 reached US $ 119.77 million (14.42 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports reached US $ 185.62 million (22.34 percent of total exports).

According to the Sector, compared to January - March 2013, exports of industrial products from January to March 2014 decreased 20.90 percent, so did agricultural exports decreased 31.64 percent while mining products increased 62.79 percent.
