Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in October 2013 increased by 5.44 percent compared to September 2013. Likewise, when compared with the same period in 2012 (October 2012) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced an increase of 0.61 percent.

The export value of South Sumatra Province in October 2013 was US $ 326.43 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 43.63 million and US $ 282.80 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports

The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January-October 2013 reaching US $ 685.53 million, US $ 614.66 million and US $ 495.50 million, with the roles of the three reaching 54 , 36 percent of total exports in October 2013.

Exports to the European Union in January - October 2013 reached US $ 399.23 million (12.09 percent of total exports) and ASEAN exports reached US $ 713.93 million (21.61 percent of total exports)

According to the Sector, exports of industrial products in January - October 2013 decreased by 11.71 percent, as well as mining exports decreased by 26.66 percent while agricultural products increased by 5.84 percent.
