Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in September 2013 was 109.10 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in September 2013 was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the September 2013 NTP increased by 0, 27 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is greater than an increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
  • The NTP of Rice & Palawija in South Sumatra in September 2013 was 122.55 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in September 2013 fell by 0.35 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in September 2013 was 113.85 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, NTP September horticulture rose by 1.44 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in September 2013 was 91.07 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in September 2013 increased 0 , 77 percent.
  • The Farmers Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in September 2013 was 106.23 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 0.31 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in September 2013 was 111.51 percent. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 0.56 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In September 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.47 percent, mainly due to an increase in the housing price index by 0.91 percent.
