Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in August 2013 was 108.80 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in August 2013 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the August 2013 NTP declined by 0.47 percent due to an increase in the price index paid by farmers is greater than an increase in the price index received by farmers in general.

NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in August 2013 was 122.98 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in August 2013 decreased by 0.93 percent.

Horticulture NTP in August 2013 was 112.24 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, August horticultural FTT fell by 0.55 percent.

The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in August 2013 was 90.37 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in August 2013 increased 0 12 percent.

Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in August 2013 was 106.56 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 0.01 percent.

The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in August 2013 was 110.89 percent. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen fell by 0.12 percent.

Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In August 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.17 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 1.80 percent.
