Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP)* South Sumatra in January 2012 was 109.15 percent, indicated that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2012 was better than the base year 2007. However When compared to the previous month, the January 2012 NTP fell by 0.65 percent, which was caused because the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general is greater with an increase in the price index received by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in January 2012 amounted to 122.20 percent, indicating that farmers rice and pulses are relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. However, when compared to the month previously, the NTP of rice and secondary crops in January 2012 fell by 0.65 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in January 2012 amounted to 115.46 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers better than the base year 2007. But when compared with the previous month, NTP horticulture in January it fell 0.91 percent.
  •  NTP People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in January 2012 amounted to 91.17 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra are still experiencing a deficit. But when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in January 2012 decreased by 0.85 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rates in South Sumatra in January 2012 amounted to 104.83 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers is relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the farmer's exchange rate had increased by 0.22 percent. 
  • Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in January 2012 was 115.81 percent. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen dropped by 0.33 percent.
  • Pedesaan Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by households the farmer. In January 2012 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.73 percent, mainly due to the increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 1.12 percent.
