Abstract

In May 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Palembang City of 1.98 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.32.
Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 0.81 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.96 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.67 percent; household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.28 percent; health group by 1.54 percent; transportation group by 2.07 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.40 percent; education group by 1.99 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.45 percent; and personal care and other services group by 13.59 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the information, communication and financial services group by 0.45 percent.
