Abstract

In September 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in South Sumatra Province was 1.40 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.78. The highest inflation occurred in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency at 1.72 percent with a CPI of 106.98 and the lowest occurred in Muara Enim Regency at 1.08 percent with a CPI of 106.93.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 0.47 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 2.17 percent; health group by 1.73 percent; transportation group by 1.81 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 2.67 percent; education group by 1.82 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.53 percent; and personal care and other services group by 7.35 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 1.41 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.61 percent and information, communication and financial services group by 0.42 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in South Sumatra Province in September 2024 was 0.12 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 0.04 percent.
