Abstract

EXPORTS

  • The value of Sumatera Selatan’s exports in November 2023 reached US$464.65 million, decreased 11.93 percent compared to exports in October 2023 and decreased 26.87 percent compared to November 2022.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in November 2023 reached US$443.05 million, decreased 8.29 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in October 2023. Meanwhile, it decreased 25.39 percent compared to November 2022.
  • Sumatera Selatan’s exports cumulatively during January - November 2023 reached US$5,971.06 million, decreased 13.97 percent over the same period in 2022.
  • The main country destinations of exports in November 2023 were China at US$172.94 million, India at US$71.60 million, and South Korea at US$ 28.93 million.
  • Sumatera Selatan’s exports cumulatively during January– November 2023 reached US$2,400.91 million for China, US$663.33 million for India and US$430.81 million for Malaysia. These three countries reached 58.53 percent of total export. Meanwhile, the export to ASEAN countries and European Union are 22.89 percent and 3.05 percent.

 

IMPORTS

  • Imports of Sumatera Selatan in November 2023 were worth US$149.32 million, increased by 2.88 percent compared to October 2023, and grew by 198.80 percent compared to November 2022.
  • Imports of oil and gas in November 2023 were US$2.75 million, increased by 47.04 percent compared to October 2023, and fell by 31.46 percent compared to November 2022.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in November 2023 were worth US$143146.57 million, increased by 2.31 percent compared to October 2023, and grew by 218.90 percent compared to November 2022. 
  • The big three largest trading partner countries of non-oil and gas imports in January–November 2023 were China US$514.75 million (52.24 percent), Malaysia US$71.16 million (7.22 percent), and Ivory Coast US$59.85 million (6.07 percent). Imports of non-oil and gas from ASEAN and EU countries were US$223.78 million (22.71 percent) and US$111.82 million (11.35 percent), respectively. 
  • Sumatera Selatan’s balance of trade in November 2023 experienced a surplus of US$315.32 million, which affected by a surplus of non-oil and gas of US$296.48 million and a surplus of oil and gas of US$18.84 million in oil and gas.
