August 2023 Inflation Year on Year (yoy) 2 CPI Cities in Sumatera Selatan Combined by 3.19 Percent

Abstract

In August 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.19 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.68. Yoy inflation in Palembang City was 3.21 percent with a CPI of 114.68 and in Lubuk Linggau City it was 2.86 percent with a CPI of 114.69.
Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 11.59 percent; education group at 5.48 percent; personal care and other services group of 3.87 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.04 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 2.13 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 2.12 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.83 percent; health group by 1.80 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 1.32 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.20 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.13 percent.
The August 2023 month to month (mtm) deflation rate was 0.04 percent and the August 2023 year to date (ytd) inflation rate was 1.58 percent.
The inflation rate for the August 2023 core component on a yoy basis was 2.21 percent while mtm inflation was 0.22 percent and ytd inflation was 1.17 percent.
