May 2023 Inflation Year on Year (yoy) Combined 2 CPI Cities in South Sumatra of 3.38 Percent

In May 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.38 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.96. Yoy inflation in Palembang City was 3.38 percent with a CPI of 113.95 and in Lubuk Linggau City it was 3.40 percent with a CPI of 114.11.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 11.61 percent; personal care and other services group of 4.05 percent; the education group by 3.97 percent; recreation, sport and culture group by 3.51 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 3.24 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.12 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.74 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 2.24 percent; the health group by 1.37 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.42 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.12 percent.

The May 2023 month to month (mtm) inflation rate was -0.04 percent and the May 2023 year to date (ytd) inflation rate was 0.94 percent.

The May 2023 core component inflation rate yoy was 2.61 percent while mtm inflation was 0.04 percent and ytd inflation was 0.83 percent.
