Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in January 2016 amounted to 95.37 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 still declined compared to the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, the January 2016 NTP also experienced a decline which is down by 0.69 percent due to a decrease in the price index received by farmers while the price index paid by farmers has increased.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in January 2016 was 102.43 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. But when compared to the previous month, NTUP in January 2016 fell by 0 , 51 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2016 was 95.21 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 also declined compared to the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, the NTP without fisheries in January 2016 also declined by 0.73 percent.
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in January 2016 was 102.25 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in January 2016 had decreased by 0.62 percent.
  • Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in January 2016 the sectors that experienced an increase compared to December 2015 were the food crops sector, the livestock sector, and the fisheries sector. While the sectors that experienced a decline were the horticultural crops sector, and smallholder plantations.
