Abstract

South Sumatra's Large Medium Manufacturing Industry production growth in the first quarter of 2014 (q-to-q) was minus 1.39 percent, down compared to production growth in the fourth quarter of 2013 of 2.72 percent. While the y-on-y production growth in the first quarter of 2014 was 9.08 percent, down from the production growth in the first quarter of 2013 of 13.22 percent.

  • Large Medium Industries (IBS) with the highest growth in the first quarter of 2014 (q-to-q) were the Rubber Industry, Rubber and Plastic Products at 3.10 percent, while the Timber Industry, Wood and Cork Products and Woven Goods from Bamboo, Rattan and the like experienced negative growth of minus 4.14 percent.
  • Nationally, IBS production growth is minus 0.02 percent (q-to-q) and 3.76 percent (y-on-y).
PRODUCTION OF SMALL MICRO MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN QUARTER I OF 2014 GROWING UP TO 2.57 PERCENT COMPARED TO QUARTER IV IN 2013
  • The growth of South Sumatra's Micro and Small Manufacturing Industries (IMK) in the first quarter of 2014 was 2.57 percent (q-to-q) compared to the growth in the fourth quarter of 2013. While the IMK y-on-y production grew by 3.34 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to growth in the first quarter of 2013. The highest growth occurred in the YTDL Machinery and Equipment Industry at 12.70 percent.
  • South Sumatra's q-to-q IMK production growth was higher than the national growth of 0.99 percent, while South Sumatra's y-on-y production growth was actually lower than the national growth of 4.41 percent.
