Abstract

  • South Sumatra Economic Growth in the third quarter of 2013 (q to q) experienced growth of 4.2 percent (with oil and gas) and 5.6 percent without oil and gas compared to conditions in the second quarter of 2013. While the development of year on year (y on y) experienced growth of 5.4 percent with oil and gas and growth without oil and gas 6.8 percent compared to conditions in the third quarter of 2012.
  • The amount of GRDP based on current prices in the third quarter of 2013 reached Rp. 60.03 trillion with oil and gas and without oil and gas Rp. 47.23 trillion. While the GRDP at constant 2000 prices with oil and gas in the same period reached Rp. 19.78 trillion and without oil and gas Rp. 16.46 trillion
  • The three sectors that experienced the highest growth (q to q) were the agriculture sector 11.7 percent, the trade, hotel and restaurant sector 5.0 percent, and the transportation and communication sector 4.8 percent. Meanwhile (y on y) growth in the transportation & communication sector was 10.0 percent, the trade, hotel and restaurant sector was 9.1 percent, and the financial, rental and business services sector was 8.7 percent.
  • On the usage side, in the third quarter of 2013, GRDP was used to meet household consumption by 62.7 percent, non-profit private institutions consumption by 1.1 percent, government consumption by 10.3 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation by 27.5 percent , and negative net exports were 3.3 percent (41.7 percent exports and 45.0 percent imports). Negative values ​​on net exports indicate the role of imports is more dominant than exports.
  • Economic growth in usage (q to q) shows positive growth in all components, especially the government consumption component that grew high (4.8 percent). While year on year (yo y) developments were also positive in all components with the highest growth in exports and imports, each at 11.0 percent and 12.3 percent.
