Abstract

South Sumatra Province ITK in the first quarter of 2012 amounted to 107.38, meaning that the economic condition of consumers improved from the previous quarter. Seeing the magnitude of the index value (more than 100) the level of consumer optimism also increased compared to quarter IV-2011 (ITK value of 107.31).

The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the first quarter of 2012 was driven by increased household incomes (ITK value of 106.83), low inflation in relation to daily food consumption (ITK value of 112.80) and increased consumption of some food and non-food commodities ( ITK value of 102.00).
