Abstract

  • The export value of the South Sumatra Province in January 2012 experienced an increase of 2.07 percent compared to December 2011, from US $ 308.77 million to US $ 315.16 million. While compared to January 2011,January 2012 export value decreased 34.21 percent.
  • The value of non-oil and gas exports in South Sumatra in January 2012 is still dominated by agricultural commodities, especially rubber that reach value in the amount of US $ 219.52 million, followed by coal in the amount of US $ 2.83 million, and wood / wood products in the amount of US $ 1.50 million.
  • The United States, Malaysia and China are the main export destinations South Sumatra in January 2012 each reached US $ 89.64 million, US $ 53.19 million and US $ 46.26 million, with the roles of the three reaching 60 percent of total exports.
  • Exports to the European Union in January 2012 reached US $ 35.29 million (11, 20 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have increased by US 3.81 million compared to December 2011. While exports to ASEAN reached US $ 62.03 million (19.68 percent of total exports) or decreased by US $ 9.82 million compared to December 2011
