Abstract

  • The city of Palembang in February 2011 experienced a deflation of 0.32 percent which was indicated by the decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 126.21 (January 2011) to 125.81 (February 2011) while nationally there was inflation of 0.13 percent
  • Deflation that occurred in the city of Palembang in February 2011 was due to a decrease in the CPI the foodstuffs group (1.18 percent) and the clothing group (0.26 percent).
  • 2011 calendar year inflation in the city of Palembang was 0.50 percent, while inflation was "year on year" (February 2011 to February 2010) amounted to 5.62 percent
  • Based on monitoring prices in 66 cities in Indonesia, it shows that 40 cities experienced inflation and 26 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Singkawang City (1.75 percent) and the lowest inflation occurred in the City of Sukabumi (0.01 percent), while the highest deflation occurred in the City Sumenep (-0.80 percent) and the lowest deflation occurred in Denpasar City (-0.01 percent).
